Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and the work BR Jurupa Valley Concrete & Masonry does for homeowners and property owners. By using the site, asking for a quote or hiring us, you agree to them, so please read them before you book a job.

If a written estimate or contract we both sign says something different from this page, the signed document controls for that job. If you have a question about anything here, call us at (951) 416-3127 or reach us through our contact page before you agree.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in Jurupa Valley, CA, and we also handle concrete work. Our crew builds and repairs block walls, brick, stone, pavers, retaining walls, chimneys, fireplaces, foundations and outdoor kitchens in Jurupa Valley and the cities around it.

The pages on this site, starting with our home page, describe our work in general terms. They aren't a quote or a promise about your project, because every yard, wall and foundation is different, and we only know what your job needs once we've seen it. You can read more about who we are on our about page.

Estimates and pricing

We give free quotes on site with no obligation to hire us. A quote is based on what we can see and measure that day, plus the materials and scope you choose, and it holds for the period written on it.

Masonry jobs sometimes turn up things nobody could see beforehand, like a cracked footing, poor soil, buried pipes or old work that has to come out. If that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain the options, and we won't charge for extra work until you've approved the change in writing.

Material prices can change between the quote and the start date. If a price moves enough to affect your total, we'll tell you before we order and give you the choice to go ahead, pick another material or cancel.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We set a start date with you once the agreement is signed. Weather, material deliveries, inspections and conditions on site can push that date, because mortar and concrete need the right conditions to set properly, and we'd rather wait a day than pour or lay block when it would weaken the work.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us as soon as you can. Your written agreement will say what happens to any deposit and to materials already ordered or custom made for your job, and you keep any cancellation rights California law gives you.

Payment

Your written agreement sets the payment schedule, which may include a deposit and payments tied to stages of the work. The final payment is due when the work is complete as described in the agreement.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up, and you're responsible for reasonable costs of collecting amounts that are past due, as far as the law allows. As a contractor, we also have the lien rights California law provides on property where we've done work.

Your part of the job

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything we should know, like property lines, easements, sprinkler lines, buried utilities, pets or past problems with the wall or foundation. We'll work around what you tell us, but we can't be responsible for damage to things that were hidden and that we weren't told about.

Property lines and HOA approvals are yours to confirm before we start. Whether a project needs a permit depends on the job and the city, so check with your city's building office if you're unsure.

Warranties and what they don't cover

We're licensed and fully insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. Any warranty on a job is the one written in your agreement, and materials carry only the warranty their maker gives.

Masonry and concrete are natural materials, so small hairline cracks, slight color differences between batches, efflorescence, which is the white powder that can show up on brick and block, and normal weathering are not defects. A warranty also doesn't cover damage from ground movement, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, poor drainage we didn't install, misuse, or changes made by someone else after we finish.

Other than what's written in your agreement or required by law, our work and this website are provided without other promises, express or implied.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We're not liable for indirect or follow-on losses, like lost use of your property or rental income, that come from delays or problems outside our control.

Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't let a contractor limit, such as for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Settling a disagreement

If something about the work isn't right, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest with a visit and a conversation. We'll come look and tell you plainly what we'll do about it.

If we can't work it out between us, we both agree to try mediation in Riverside County before going to court. If mediation doesn't settle it, either of us can take the dispute to a court in Riverside County, California.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a court finds any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. Changes apply to your use of the site and to new agreements from the date we post them, and a job already under a signed agreement stays under the terms you signed.

Questions about these terms can go to us at (951) 416-3127 or through our contact page, and we respond within 1 business day.
